Bethink (Pty) Ltd ("Bethink", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use lekana.app. lekana is a TimeWarp product by Bethink (Pty) Ltd.
By using this website, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the website.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide directly
When you submit an access request through this website, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your cell phone number (used to follow up by WhatsApp)
- The name of your business and the number of sites you operate
We collect this information only when you choose to submit the access request form.
Information collected automatically
This website is a static site hosted by Vercel. Standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) may be recorded by our hosting provider for security and operational purposes.
Cookies and analytics
lekana does not use tracking cookies and does not run web analytics on this website. The website does not build a profile of you or track you across other websites.
This website loads fonts from Google Fonts. When fonts load, your browser contacts Google's servers, which may receive your IP address. No cookies are set for this purpose.
3. How we use your information
We use the information you submit through the access request form to:
- Respond to your access request
- Discuss your business, your fit for lekana, and arrange access
- Contact you about your request and any related follow-up
- Keep a reasonable record of access requests we have received
We do not use your information for marketing without your consent.
4. How your access request is processed
When you submit an access request:
- The information is sent to a secure server function on this website.
- A notification email is sent to Bethink, and a confirmation email is sent to you, using Google's Gmail service.
This means your access request information is processed and stored within Bethink's Google Workspace account. Google acts as a processor of this information on Bethink's behalf.
5. Third parties
We rely on the following third-party service providers:
- Vercel: website hosting and DNS
- Google: Gmail services used to process and store access requests, and Google Fonts used to display the website's typography
Each provider operates according to its own privacy and security policies. We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
6. Data security
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Serving the website over encrypted (HTTPS) connections
- Limiting access to access request information to Bethink and lekana team members
- Relying on reputable providers (Vercel, Google) that maintain enterprise-grade security
No system is completely secure. If a breach occurs that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as required by POPIA.
7. Data retention
We keep your access request information for as long as necessary to follow up on the request and, where the relationship continues, to maintain a reasonable business record. You may request deletion of your information at any time, subject to any legal retention requirements.
8. The lekana application
The lekana application itself (at work.lekana.app) processes additional information that you upload or generate while reconciling your bank and point-of-sale data. That processing is governed by separate service terms agreed when an account is provisioned, and by a Data Processing Addendum if your business requires one.
9. Your rights under POPIA
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Object to certain processing of your information
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator
